Lots of litter
Reported via iOS in the Street cleaning category by Andrew Coles at 10:01, Sun 13 March 2022
Sent to West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3383679.
There is lots of litter at the old Bathing Place. Not only do we need it clearing up but a litter bin here would help manage the waste and prevent litter getting into the river.

Ahem ! Witney Woodland Volunteers were working in that area this morning to help sort these constant problems: which a local resident said is largely locally generated, especially from tenanted property not supervised by agents or landlord/ owner. So all praise to WWV for battling on - the under-recognised, unsung heros & heroines ! AND where's the Witney Land Army disappeared to, when it's wet, dirty cold ... outside ? a "one day wonder" ?!

Was this report generated because the rubbish was spotted during the "anti pollution march" last weekend ? Quote: "Dozens of people gathered in Witney to protest Thames Water’s dumping of sewage into local rivers and waterways. The march started at the Old Bathing Place and ended in a short rally in the Market Square with speeches from Ashley Smith from WASP (Windrush Against Sewage Pollution) and Oxfordshire county and West Oxfordshire district councillor Andrew Coles." Ironic ? they could have polished their credentials by pausing to pick that pollution up as they went ... ? But no ? PEOPLE create the pollution (fats, microfibres, micro-plastic particles, pharma by-products, ... oh and sh1t ... ) but expect (again) others to tidy up after them. Is Witney following other places' lead ? such as by checking if their rainwater output from roofs etc can be reduced in to the foul systems (eg by diverting into their own garden soakaways ?). Are their personal pension funds benefiting from TWU dividends ? ....
