Numerous potholes along the track from Brightstone Lane to my property, Greenmore.

Reported via desktop in the Rights of way category anonymously at 21:21, Sat 12 March 2022

Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3383222.

I’ve reported the post holes along this track numerous times, occasionally someone turns up for about and hour, thorns scalpings down into a few holes but literally a few days later the potholes are as bad as they were before which is not cost effective. Something better needs to be applied.

Updates

  • Despite numerous emails to the department they just blank me, extremely unprofessional behaviour.

  • An engineer looked at the track about 3 weeks ago but I would never have known if I hadn’t managed to run out after him whilst he used out drive to turn in. You would think as a matter of courtesy that they would at least let you know. He said the council doesn’t have the money to carry out the repairs and because we are the only property along the track not deemed important enough which is outrageous as we pay our council tax just like everyone else. I will be escalating my complaint.

  • I had an update a few days ago to say the case was closed as the engineer who looked at the track determined that because we are the only house, we don’t warrant the cost. I have since put in another complaint.

  • There are probably about 100 potholes along the Section of track leading up to our property, the photos posted don’t relate fully as to how bad it is.

  • Apparently the job to do fill the potholes has been put out to contract but despite asking for an idea of when the work will be carried out, we have not had the courtesy of a reply.

  • After numerous phone calls and emails trying to get an update about when the work would be carried out. We finally got a response but Highways cants give a date other than it will be before the end of the financial year. Nor did they answer specific questions I put to them.

  • A Highways turned up on 4th January without notice and started to fill some potholes halfway down the track. The reason they didn't start at the top is because they said 'they may run out of time'. It's a joke not even half the the potholes along the part of the track they did do were filled and so 4 weeks later it's as though they hadn't been her. I have emailed to ask them to come and finish the job but as usual have been blanked.

  • Despite writing to the senior engineer asking when the job is going to be finished she has not replied.

  • Yet again, I have not received a reply to another email I sent chasing this matter up. The people in charge basically don’t give a damn otherwise they would at least acknowledge someone who has made the effort to write to them.
