Cars parking on the bends of Old Parr Close in the daytime, sometimes partly up on pavements, opposite and just up from the Nursery. Some parents have found it difficult to drop off and collect their children. There are parking bays on the street but people working in the town use this street as a general parking area, putting on there back packs and coming to collect their vehicles as businesses close. Cars parking daytime on yellow line opposite this street on Old Parr Road. This, plus parking opposite homes 26,25,24 Old Parr Road can restrict access up one way part to Fairview Road. HGVs have used this route, as I've seen it happen, plus their tyre prints have been seen on raised pavements. A large removal van frequently parks in these narrower areas. There have also been a number of accidents recently, on this one way section, just past the bend by Fairview Road, where vehicles have come up the hill gone into the back of vehicles parked just past the bend. There was one on Monday night. It was coned off by police. A vehicle had gone into the back of a larger white van parked on this narrow stretch. I counted 25 empty parking spaces on Monday morning at 9-45am in the long term parking spaces close by on South Bar Street , the main road. There is also parking at the Matalan car park and there is a NCP car park just off Marlborough Road, both just down the hill from me. At the same time my street was full of cars! Please can you look into this problem and see what can be done to improve the situation as there are many children in this area too. Thank you.
