Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3373368.

There are numerous Hazell skips with bright pink adverts on the side left at road junctions in the area. My previous report was removed as "old" but was only posted a few days ago. Please treat this as a flagrant abuse of planning rules on advertisements.

Updates

  • Dear Mr Griffin

Thank you for contacting the council, about the Hazell and Jefferies skips. I am in contact with the Highways team at the County council, with regards to the matter. Skips on the public highway need to legally have been licensed, have certain markings and flashing beacons, which none of these have. The County council looking into the matter and I have also been in touch with the company with regards to their duty of care and any waste that is deposited in or around the skips.

  • Skip still there two weeks on and now full of rubbish. Please act and get this unlicensed waste management activity stopped. It sends a bad message that people can do what they like with the public highway. Why not get another operator to remove it and send r hazels the bill. Remove their waste disposal licence.

  • Still there, now full of waste. Clear breach of waste disposal licence. Anyone else depositing property on the Highway without justification would expect to have it confiscated within days not weeks. Please get whichever public body issued the licence to r hazells to withdraw it. Ban r hazels from working for the county council. If the County can't act, please say who can.
