Illegal drive

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 06:54, Thursday 3 March 2022

Sent to Hertfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Drive built on a junction (against the rules given in https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/ media-library/ documents/ highways/ dropped-kerb-terms-conditions.pdf). Access to said drive is made via a narrow dropped curb designed for pedestrialn/wheelcahir access and not for a car. The drive has been in daily use since June 2021 and there is already visible damage to the tarmac on the footpath. The Highways Act 1980 forbids to drive over a footpath or verge unless a dropped kerb has been approved and installed by the council. Property number: 18

Updates

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 06:11, Tuesday 5 April 2022

  • Nothing has changed, people on the street (and other streets around) are still parking on illegal drives, driving over curbs that have not been lowered. It makes a mockery of those who follow the processes and pay the council to have the work don, the fools!
