Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 17:35, Monday 28 February 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

There is a major drain collapse on A47 between Sporle and Necton in direction of Dereham, someone put a traffic cone next to it, very serious in my opinion

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the collapsed cover on the A47 between Sporle and Necton. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

This is a failed BT cover and frame and surrounding tarmac reinstatement. We have notified BT of their defective apparatus via a section 81 notice. The local National Highways route inspector saw this defect this morning and contacted the BT plant protection officer for the area, requesting that the issue be escalated to a 2 hour response for their contractors to attend and make this issue safe. It is therefore expected that this issue will be fixed today (01/03/2022).

Thank you again for contacting us. If you need more information about this, please feel free to contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 500 or by email at info@highwaysengland.co.uk.

    Kind regards
