Reported in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 14:15, Wed 29 October 2008
Sent to Canterbury City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 33491.
The Bandstand building is falling into decline. Significant lottery funds were awarded to refurbish the Bandstand but since then the Council have not maintained the Building at all.
Please could you protect this historic building from futher decay and carry out emergency repairs and maintenance. This building is alo is a conservation area.
I would be gateful to receve details of repair and maintenance proposals

A reply was sent to you following your original email.
The Central Bandstand is maintained by Canterbury city Council and is regularly inspected by Streetscene Department and Building Maintenance. Part of the site is redecorated every 5 years by the Council as part of a planned maintenance programme and the remainder by a tenant, also every 5 years. Next due 2009

Street Scene - Canterbury Council
Thank you that is very informative.
Could you please advise exactly what work has been scheduled by the Council?
and exactly what work the tenant will be responsible for?
Does this work include the upgrade of the Public Toilets in the bandstand?
Exactly when will the work commence?
Thank you
