Just had a call from from ELC on this. It took 20 minutes from reporting to someone getting in touch. I know this is exceptional but impressive nonetheless.

Same problem only looks even worse than the previous time.

After recent rain, we've had reports that sections of Pencaitland railway path, just below the entrance from Castle Gardens, have been quite badly rutted by water breaking up the surface and driving deep grooves into the footpath. This makes it difficult for anyone not on foot or on a decent mountain bike and we've actually had reports that people with wheelchairs can no longer get through this section.
It's actually related to work that was done a number of years ago by ELC in the forest that leads towards The distillery, the unintended consequences of which were to cause the flow of water to run across and down Pencaitland railway path when we have heavy inundations of rain.
