Cycle Lane has thorns and Mud

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath issue (NH) category anonymously at 12:04, Thursday 10 February 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

The office of Dr Luke Evans MP has been contacted by a resident concerned about the condition of a section of Cycle path alongside the A5 Lutterworth Road in Burbage – he has helpfully even provided a grid reference!

”Map Ref: 52.505644, -1.336220

The cycle lane at the top of Lutterworth Road, Burbage and adjacent to the A5 (See map ref above) is now in a disgusting and dangerous state. I rode the cycle lane today (see attached photo) and found the following:

- A farmer has cut the hedge by the cycle lane and left the lane covered in small hedge cuttings. These are probably hawthorn or whitethorn. A puncture waiting to happen.

- The lane is covered in many areas with thick mud, gravel, glass and vegetation.

- Debris from the main carriageway has been thrown up onto the cycle lane.”
