Uneven road surface
Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 10:29, Thu 28 February 2013
Sent to Edinburgh City Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 328471.
If i wanted to ride a roller-coaster i would go to a theme park. This is a road and it is getting dangerous. You re-surfaced up to the shops but stopped. This section needs attention, riding a bike across it is dangerous and cars swerve to avoid dips and bumps.

This is a severe danger to motorcyclists and requires immediate attention. 1) It requires multiple movements across the lane to avoide the worst of the pot holes. 2) This is coupled with a filter lane to turn left and vehicles out of position in the lanes. 3) There are also vehicles parked up at the shops looking to park and leave parking.
All of the above combined lead to vehicles being in the wrong part of the road and / or looking to manouver across the lanes when morotcyclists (in particular) are looking to use the full breadth of the lanes to avoid dangerous pot holes.

This stretch of Comiston Road has been in a shocking state for years, with sunken manhole covers, potholes and other lumps and bumps in the road surface. It makes me fear for my car's suspension when I drive over it, and the buses crash and shudder as they go over it. It's actually dangerous to ride my pushbike or motorbike over it since they don't absorb the bumps so well and it's all too easy for the front wheel to be knocked out of line by such an uneven surface.
As Addy Pope pointed out, the resurfacing work stopped about 100 metres short of the stretch that needed it most.
