Dangerous bend sign damaged.

Reported via iOS in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 14:16, Mon 31 January 2022

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3279545.

There are several signs on posts within 200m of this location that warn of a dangerous blind and sharp bend. All of these signs have been hit and damaged by recent hedgcutting activities of what I believe was the local farmers. The bend in the road they refer to has extremely limited visibility and the road narrows on either side of the bend. This road is used as a “cut through” by traffic heading from the A339 to the A30/A303 and vice versa at peak times.

  • Absolutely no action has been taken to date by Hampshire Highway’s to rectify this issue as far as I am aware.

There was, I believe, quite a serious accident in this area on Saturday 25th March 2022. Whether action to rectify the issues with the signs warning of sharp bends and a narrowing road would have reduced the speed of traffic involved is debatable but it might just have helped!
