Intrusive led street lighting

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting category anonymously at 08:55, Sun 30 January 2022

Sent to East Lothian Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3276303.

We live on a narrow street, the Led street lights are approx 1 metre from bedroom windows. They are so bright and direct that even with black out blinds the light still penetrates around the cracks/edges. The lights are also intrusive into the gardens on the ends of the terraces. We would like to request light shields so that the light is directed to the pavement and does not flood light homes and gardens. Ideally residents would like the lights dimmed as these have a serious impact on wildlife and natural sleep rhythms. It is a very narrow street lit up like a football pitch! 😂
