Request for Footpath Improvement
Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:54, Sat 29 January 2022
Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3275010.
In Aldwick Road, Bognor Regis there is a footpath that leads from the east side of the road to Tinghall via a bridge. There is also a footpath on the west side of Aldwick Road. However there is no paved path between the west side path that is opposite the path through to Tinghall, just a section of grass verge that is about 3-4 meters wide there. So, in order to get from west to east pedestrians have either to walk across the grass - which is muddy and slippery during wet spells - or negotiate across the junction between Aldwick Road and Westminster Drive on the wrong side of the road. Both these roads are quite busy (especially Aldwick road) so this is not really a safe option. Would it be possible to add a paved section of path that joins the path on the west side of Aldwick Road to the road immediately opposite the path to Tinghall some time please?

A WSCC staff member has been in touch to say that a request has been made for this improvement but that they are not sure if it will be granted. So for now pedestrians must either walk over the muddy verge or in the road on a junction/fast road.
