Keep left signs missing from central island

Reported via desktop in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 07:54, Mon 24 January 2022

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3261859.

Seen 22:05 hrs 23 Jan 22

DANGEROUS

Signs are on ground.

Lane width appears less than 3 metres.

Also a lot of other statutory signage between this island and Odiham is defective, for instance twisted keep lefts, rotated or missing off post 50 repeaters.

Updates

  • Portable keep left signs were installed soon after original report. Today one has blown over, and there is an old sign frame on the island as well. All the hatched lines are covered in detritus, both verges are over run, the running lanes each side of the island are only 2.5 m wide (compare this with the London standard of 4.25 m and the minimum width of 3.6 m for a dual carriageway link road). This stretch of road has a well signed 30 mph speed limit, this island doesn't contribute to traffic calming, it is just a dirty hazard that needs perpetual repair and is best removed.
