Loose gravel and uneven surface

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 14:50, Sun 23 January 2022

Sent to Kent County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3260737.

The road at Water Farm is disgraceful, and has been in an awful state for years. There is a substantial amount of loose gravel, we were assured by Kieran from Highways, who visited the site on 18th August 2021, that he would arrange for the whole road to be swept of the loose gravel, and that plans were afoot to resurface Water Farm early in 2022. Despite my calling Highways the following month, nothing was on their records regarding his visit, nothing has yet been done. The road is a danger to all residents, who use it, including young children, elderly, cyclists & motorcyclists.

Updates

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 15:15, Sun 20 February 2022

  • It was swept a few weeks ago, but is now back to how it was, loose gravel, big patches of uneven surface. Very dangerous for cyclists and motorcyclists as well as those elderly residents on foot.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • KCC visited today and marked a couple of potholes to be filled. We were promised a total resurface this financial year by Keiran from Highways who visited 18th August 2021. Filling a few holes is just not good enough, and is not cost/time effective, as the whole road is breaking up.
