Dirty Undesirable Underpass
Sent to Breckland District Council and Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3255660.
We have complained many times about the awfulness of this underpass & nothing has been done. We do not know how long ago we first complained about this underpass it runs into years. Its very dirty, all the pictures that the young people have done have been horribly spoilt, we complained that the first picture you see on the right hand side as you come from Minstergate has sick over it, its been like that for months & months too many to remember. It just looks horrible as you pass under to go into Water Lane to go into the Priory Ruins which is a tourist attraction. Most towns would be proud of their heritage & town but it looks as if people just do not care at all. This area should have a good clean up regularly even if its just every 6 months.

What you will find here is that Breckland Council AND Norfolk County Council will BOTH pass the buck between them. Perhaps you need the angle of Public Health. If you feel unsafe in the underpass? are the Police involved? Do you need to pressure all three of these until some thing is done?

No this problem has not been fixed, it has even more Graffiti whick looks HORRIBLE. Everyone who lives in this area can not believe how our underpass has just been left soooo long in such an awful state!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another semi (useful) route might be your Town Council. There are 16 councillors. They will all 'pass the buck' saying Highways-Public Paths etc BUT as the 16 councillors are ALL citizens of Thetford such that they run the town council, should they be concerned about their town??
