Trees overhanging road
Reported via mobile in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 17:12, Tue 18 January 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3250359.
Two trees on the verge overhang the road. We understand that these trees are the council’s responsibility but want to double check. We don’t want to cut anything if it doesn’t belong to us but also we don’t want to leave something that we should be responsible for.

Thank you for your enquiry, I have visited site and inspected the trees & vegetation as described in the enquiry. The vegetation present appears growing beyond the area that OCC maintains and is therefore deemed to be an adjacent boundary feature. OCC, as the local highway authority, maintain the HMPE (highway maintainable at public expense) from boundary feature to boundary feature. As such the vegetation present is maintainable by the adjacent property/land owner, and not the county council, to maintain as they wish. Should you require a more detail on this matter, please contact our highway records team at: Landandrecords@oxfordshire.gov.uk
