Speeding Traffic in Coombe Lane

Reported in the Street sign category by Mohammed Shuaib Sheikh at 09:18, Tue 19 February 2013

Sent to Merton 3 minutes later

Sorry for the trouble. I have chosen Street Sign category because there is no category for my issue. Please pass it on to the right department.

Coombe Lane (SW20) carries relatively heavy traffic. It has 30 mile speed limit but often the limit is not observed by motor vehicle drivers, which makes crossing the road by the young and elderly dangerous. I believe automatic electronic speed monitors and Centre Refuges would address the problem.

I notice that Cambridge road, a wide road, which is off Coombe Lane has a 20 mile limit but narrower roads off Cambridge road one of which is Richmond road with just over single lane width have 30 mile limit. Why?
