Rail commuters parking in an Access Only Road

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 16:12, Fri 15 February 2013

Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council 2 minutes later

This is a regular problem that is constantly ignored by Thames Valley Police. We do not have off street parking and rely on the street parking, but these selfish commuters force us to park elsewhere - sometimes in another street. Sort it out! The residents are now fed up!!

  • 1) A Volkswagen car PJ07 NVY parked in Brentford Close in the late afternoon of Sunday 13th May. The driver clearly set out for Cholsey railway station and has not been seen since; the car remains safely but illegally parked in an 'access only' street, reserved for residents and their visitors. This is a recurring problem and the authorities must enforce their own by-laws, or else be seen to be negligent. 2) The Fix My Street reporting page is incapable of accepting a new incident report while there are existing reports at the same location. This is a shortcoming of the system, which appears to be designed to limit the ability of the public to report as many problems as actually exist on South Oxfordshire's disgraceful roads.

  • The offending car mentioned above departed on Wednesday 16th may but has returned today, 18th, despite a polite note being left to the driver.
