Tree fallen across pavement

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category by Ross Tomlyn at 11:16, Wed 5 January 2022

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3217235.

A tree has fallen across the pavement on the Navins in Mountsorrel. This path is used everyday by small children walking to and from school and is a dangerous path (as it has no real defined edge) at best. The tree is now causing children to have to walk out into the road. There is a second tree which is dead and ready to fall across the road too about another 20 metres away. It is in the centre foreground on one of the photos and is situated to the right side of a brown garage door (which cannot be seen on the photo). The tree is dead and full of woodworm and ready to fall too.

Updates

  • The problem has been partially fixed (but that wasn't an option in the questionnaire). The tree has been moved from the carriageway and dumped on the far side of the road. Initially, surrounded by cones, I thought that it would be removed at a later date but all that happened a few days later is that the cones were removed.
