Dip in road. Ineffective drain. Significant flooding and damage to driveway
Reported via mobile anonymously at 10:32, Sat 1 January 2022
Sent to Essex County Council and Uttlesford District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3208469.
This issue has been ongoing for over 10 years and although it has been raised to Uttlesford District Council in the past, nothing has been done. The corner of Dell Lane here is a low point for the road, and although there is an existing drain, all rain run off from the road floods down the farm track towards Stansted Inn as the road slopes and the track is significantly lower. This has caused flooding in the field adjacent to the farm track several times a year, and constant damage to the farm track itself which was once a driveway and is now a pothole ridden mess prone to flooding making access a nightmare. Every year I add more hardcore to the track to fill the potholes, and every year it is washed out and more damage done by rain run off. I am unsure of whether it would be best to put a better long narrow drain in where the road and track meet or if simply raising the track side would assist (although i suspect this may cause flooding on the road due to the inefficient drainage. Please send out someone to inspect who knows how best to resolve this as it has been ongoing for far too long now. Thank you

Have heard nothing from the council expect an automatic response saying they will contact in up to 10 working days. Very unhappy with the lack of response or action. It is incredibly frustrating that someone reads these emails and decides not to bother dealing with the issues raised in any way. Disappointingly poor use of taxpayers money.
