Dog Fouling Epidemic

Reported in the Dog fouling category by James Oswald at 09:07, Tue 7 October 2008

Sent to Halton Borough Council 4 minutes later

Even though there is a dog bin in this area there are huge amounts of dog mess along this entire path. It's got to the point that you have to constantly look where you are walking in case you step in something. People from the surrounding streets simply walk their dog down this area until it fouls and then leave it and walk back to their homes. It's a lovely place that is becoming ruined by the lazyness of dog owners. I myself have a dof and picking up their mess is part of a owning a dog. A good 1st step would e to write to everyone in the area to explain the disease that follows dog fouling, how it easily effects children and eye sight. Also that the area is being looked at by local authorities and what the outcome could be.
We have rought this up and numer of time and people at the council pass the complaint round like a hot potato saying that it's not their department. Any help with this matter would be great.

Updates

  • Waste of time. They phoned and sraight away referred to my last complaint and informed me that nothing had changed and they still did not have the man power to look into the problem. I requested a generic letter requesting help and co-operation rather from all residents rather than a threatening one be sent to all residents in the area (as to not single anyone out). This was met with an abrupt/slightly rude responce.
So it was left again that they would not do anything. The problem if anything has since got worse!
