Bad Parking on double yellow lines

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category anonymously at 11:09, Sun 19 December 2021

Sent to Leicestershire County Council and North West Leicestershire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3188643.

People have taken to park on double yellow lines and pavement where they park week nights and weekends all night to midday, or all weekend from Friday night. It disturbs the traffic, it is dangerous for pedestrians but also people with disability scooters, as well than for the bus stop. It also hides the traffic for the drive. This has been on going for months!

Updates

  • We had a visit from two Police Officers on 14th January 2022, the effect was immediate, no parking occurred until the 22nd when a car stayed all night, blocked visibility out of the drive and disturbed traffic, then on 23rd January a red car parked all afternoon till evening; same problem and today 28th of January another car parked again for hours on double yellow line. Fear of the Police worked perfectly for a short time, now it seems to be back to 'normal bad behaviour'.

  • Sadly, no improvement. Cars are still parking on double yellow line, disturbing traffic, and obstructing drive.
