Better bin required.

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 08:29, Sat 18 December 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3187104.

I often walk over the wooden bridge that links Audlett drive and Abbey Meadows on a Monday morning. There is a bin, which is well placed in Abbey Meadows just by the wooden footbridge. Unfortunately, quite often on a Monday and definitely after Bank Holidays, the bin is so full, it is overflowing. On a windy day, this means that that rubbish has the opportunity of ending up in the waterways, with the obvious problems this causes. I think this is a problem with most bins in the park. Would it be possible to ‘double up’ the capacity of the bins, perhaps provide a lid/cover for windy days and split between recycling and non recycling. I think the people of Abingdon want to do the right thing, but the bins aren’t up to it in the park.
