Lack of pavement area for pedestrians to use

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 14:04, Fri 10 December 2021

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3171974.

At this location there is a Beech Hedge that over the years has been allowed to over grow the useable pavement area. It looks as though it has been cut a bit but it needs another 9 to 12 inches removed to make this section of Brownhill Road pavement useable for an adult and a child to walk side by side. I believe it is owned by number 2 Lakewood Road called "The Beeches".

Updates

  • Whist this hedge was cut back a bit in the early autumn it still need much more cutting back to allow ONE ADULT and ONE CHILD to walk side by side without having to walk on muddy wet grass.

  • This problem hedge has been reported several times but so very little has been cut back it is not noticeable and remains overgrowing the pavement to a very large amount. It is a disgrace to the flat Landlords. When is something going to be done to enable pedestrians including a lot of children attending the local school to walk by without getting soaking wet by the hedge in the rain or muddy by having to walk on the mud . WHEN OH! WHEN
