Report 3078247 closed in error

Reported via desktop in the Fallen branch category by Debbie Lines at 09:51, Fri 26 November 2021

Sent to Peterborough City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3144758.

The owner of the property adjacent to the previously raised dangerous cherry tree has checked the Land Registry - see attached. He is not the owner, the tree is not on his land so he has no responsibility. His check does not show who does own the land but if not private then I assume it is indeed the Councils? . Surely Aragon should have checked the Land Registry rather than just closing the ticket and referring us to it. Please take another look at this urgently or advise who we should contact, if not yourselves. Thank you, Debbie Lines - Parish Clerk

  • Works recommended

Thanks for your enquiry regarding a Council owned tree.

A qualified tree surveyor has assessed your request and following a site visit has recommended works. On completion of the works you may feel the task undertaken may not fully address the issue raised. Aragon Direct Services employ qualified tree surveyors to undertake the inspections and all works recommended are in accordance within the guidance contained within the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028.

Continued management of all our trees forms an integral part of this strategy. All Council owned trees are surveyed by a qualified surveyor for safety every one-to-five years, depending on how much the area surrounding them is used. Where inspection identifies maintenance work it is scheduled in accordingly with safety issues forming the highest priority.

For further information please read the Peterborough Tree & Woodland Strategy 2018-2028

Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Aragon Direct Services.
