Incorrect Street Name Sign

Reported via desktop in the Street nameplates category by J Hughes at 20:48, Wed 24 November 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cherwell District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3142289.

Merlin Way is a Cul - de- Sac leading off Peregrine Way. It is the only No Through road that does not have the Cul-de-sac ' T' marker after the street name. All other cul-de-sac roads on Langford Village have the correct sign. CAUSE - the sign suggests that Merlin Way is a 'through road' so we have a steady stream of traffic including Multidrop vans / Supermarket delivery vans and general traffic turning around at the end of the cul-de-sac opposite No.s 69 and 26. There is a sharp right hand blind bend at the end of the road and there have been many near misses over the last few years. The road is a popular cut through for young families with small children on their way to the nearby primary school which poses a road safety obligation to have correct signage installed.

Updates

  • Hello , for some reason the Signage dept. have opted to replace one sign with the correct one and left the other (incorrect sign) in place. This is even more confusing than having the wrong signage in the first place !
