Large lorry parking on pavement

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 22:33, Tue 23 November 2021

Sent to Leeds City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3140413.

Large lorry drives down the pavement to park up. Sometimes it's just the cab but there has been a trailer attached too. It's difficult to walk on the pavement - you have to cross over the road. It's an ongoing issue on Middleton Road with the pavement blocked by cars and vans especially near the shops/cafe at the top opposite the Springwell school.

  • Lorry parked again tonight completely blocking pavement and sight lines to cross the road. Do I contact the company myself to tell them their driver is parking like this?

  • Apparently the Council can't do anything because there are no parking restrictions in this area!! Find this totally unbelievable as there are two children's centres on this road and houses with driveways - cars and lorries parked on pavements block sightlines and make it difficult to cross. Also no noticeable speed signs so the road is used as a racetrack! Does there have to be another accident before the council listen?
