Road starting to sink again next to post box on Tavistock Road

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 07:17, Thu 21 October 2021

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later

Previously repaired before the pandemic this section of road is sinking again. It is starting to become a rollercoaster again when you drive over it. After heavy rain yesterday there was big pool of water collecting in the dip which splashes the pavement (and anyone walking there) when someone drives through it. Cars go into the middle of the road to avoid it.

Updates

  • Seems to be getting worse since I first reported it a month ago

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Clearly there is something very wrong beneath the tarmac layer for the road to keep sagging like this. Water erosion perhaps? When repaired again this area needs better reinforment.

  • Continues to get worse. I know to avoid it, but when it rains cars don't know how deep it is.

  • Getting worse. Someone's car is going to get damaged soon. Needs to be fixed asap and repaired properly this time.
