Obstruction to foot path

Reported via Android in the Footpaths/ Rights of way (usually not tarmac) category anonymously at 20:17, Wednesday 20 October 2021

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later

I was unsure whether to proceed on this path where a horse was in the field and standing on the path to the next style. I did not know if the horse would react to me or my dog so I had to make a long diversion by roads. Please can you take steps to make sure the path is safe.

  • Council response was not helpful..... 'Thank you for your enquiry. It is common to find livestock in fields/paddocks which are crossed by public rights of way. Landowners have a duty not to keep livestock which they know to be aggressive or likely to cause injury to the public in fields crossed by public rights of way. I would advise you to always keep your dog on a lead where livestock is present'.

The dog was on the lead but the horse was not!
