Failed tree planting programme by Davidsons Homes

Reported via desktop by Colin Carr at 21:40, Wed 13 October 2021

Sent to Leicestershire County Council and North West Leicestershire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3061200.

I contacted the local authority over a year ago during lockdown but after an initial response saying this would be investigated, nothing has happened.

When the new estate by Davidsons Homes was built it was on the understanding/proviso by the planning authority that a significant amount of tree planting would be carried out.

The trees were planted but since then many were removed to create "rides" and many of the poorly planted survivors have since died.

There has been no obvious maintenance of the trees since the estate was first built 3 yrs ago.

Could someone please examine why so few trees were planted and address the issue of the many dead trees among the survivors.

Thanks
