Paving slabs broken by cars/trucks parking on pavements

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:54, Tue 12 October 2021

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3057224.

By vehicles continually parking on pavements, paving slabs are cracking and some are lifting, this is causing a problem to pedestrians, its a trip hazard, the road is more than wide enough to cater for on street parking, drivers getting lazy and just park on pavements now. This issue has been gradually getting worse over the last 2 years, I have asked people to park on the road numerous time but it falls on deaf ears. The lighting on the street is not bright enough to highlight the raised slabs and can be dangerous at night and even the day. Wheelchair/pram/reduce sight users often struggle when cars/trucks parked too far on to the pavements. As mentioned there is more than enough space on the road to park, I have lived in the area for 25 years and its just been getting worse and worse.
