Blocked surface water drains

Reported via mobile in the Road, Pavement and PROW Issues category anonymously at 14:34, Friday 8 October 2021

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

The lake is back. There seems to be infinite money to buy flower boxes to block off roads, how about doing something vital and sorting out the surface water drains that have caused so much flooding in London this week?

  • This is NOT fixed. It is no good just sending a contractor with a gulley sucker. This needs more attention. The drain from these gullies to the sewer is blocked. This has been reported now for months. Please stop prevaricating and get someone to actually look at it and take action.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • I would agree with the above comment. There is no point gulley sucking these severely blocked gullies? It's like papering over a crack. I have been reporting on them for the past 6 months and the commitment to find the cause of the blockage is disappointing. Bromley Council and Thames Water need to work TOGETHER to get to a resolve and not bounce the issue between each other. The bad (wet) weather is coming and the drains today (sans rain) are already over flowing and stagnating? They are also a danger/hazard to pedestrians as the road and area around (inc the pavement when it breaches the curb) it is starting to get very muddy and slippery - what it will be like in winter is anyone's guess!
