Disintegration of road due to poor repair

Reported via iOS in the Potholes category anonymously at 10:02, Wed 6 October 2021

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3045008.

Danger of serious accident as cars swerve to avoid this area it is even worse for cyclists of which we have a large number on particularly fragile racing bikes. This is situated on a bend and cars come round this fast on the Oposite side to the damage so cyclists have no option but to traverse this dangerous piece of road.

Updates

  • This area of road is very poor. It has obviously been patched over time and the patch work is of very poor quality. Normal cars or not 4x4s often swerve to miss this poor piece of road and it is only a matter of time before there is either an accident or someone’s tyres / wheels get damaged. It is also frequented by a large volume of cyclists and it is only a matter of time before one of them is badly injured.

  • This has been reported 4 months ago and still nothing has been done! I hope no one has any damage or injury caused by this. Drivers drive to avoid it and it’s on a bend that does have some fast traffic. The road surface is also poor on the other side as well as some pot holes. The whole section needs resurfacing.
