Trees blocking street light

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 08:05, Wednesday 29 September 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro

The trees in this area on Ladygrove Loop are overgrown and stretch over the path on both sides creating a tunnel. This obscures the street light on the pathway. The light works intermittently and so it can be pitch black walking through there in the evenings. The debris from the trees also makes the path extremely hazardous. It makes me very uncomfortable & vulnerable to walk this way alone even in the daytime let alone at night. There are no other areas along the pathway that are left to grow this way, they are all trimmed right back. The intermittent street light makes a bad situation much worse and with the nights getting dark earlier I should imagine it will only get worse still.

  • I have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The trees present are on land not deemed to be part of the highway maintainable at public expense by OCC in the County‚Äôs capacity as local highway authority. The trees are on land that is maintainable by the Local District Council and not by the County Council. I have transfered this enquiry to them; however, you may also wish to contact them directly to pursue this enquiry further.
    Many Thanks for your enquiry.
