Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3028326.
This pothole is on the NW bound carriageway of the A417 between Stanford-in-the-Vale and Farringdon, about 70m NW of the junction with the A4508 (just past a drain). It has existed for several months (at least from Feb 2021) and has caused damage to two tyres on my car: A blowout and tyre wall bulge. It was impossible to avoid the pothole due to oncoming in the middle lane turning into the B4508 to Shellingford.

Just went over this pothole-it was dark and therefore couldn't see it. Had to hold on tightly to steering wheel as we were jolted about. It shocked myself and my passenger. Needs urgent repair before it causes an accident.

Pothole this morning has buckled my alloy so severely that it now catches on the suspension strut on every revolution of the wheels. This left my girlfriend distraught that on the one day we've swapped cars, it got damaged. As you can see from the pictures the pothole is ~400mm wide, 7-800mm long and at least 100mm deep for the majority of it. Incident this morning was just before 7:30 whilst it was still dark at which time you really can't see it.
