Inadequate 20 mph signs.

Reported via desktop in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 14:47, Mon 27 September 2021

Sent to South Gloucestershire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3027822.

Between the roundabout in Stoke Gifford and the Light Controlled Pedestrian Crossing (heading towards Parkway Station) there is a new 20 mph sign. This sign is too small and placed back off the roadside so is not noticed until the Speed Sign displays a 'grumpy face' because by then speed is above 20mph but below 30 mph. I understand the reasoning behind the reduction in speed limit but it has been inadequately carried out! A much better means of 'advising' road users would be to have '20' painted on the road surface and maybe a different coloured road surface.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • The sign on a post is now visible but the 'roundel' with "20" is still needed on the road surface.
