Road a danger to cyclists
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Martin Ricketts at 22:25, Fri 24 September 2021 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3023568.
As reported in years gone by, by me and others, the edge of the road is slipping away from the rest. This is presumably where is was widened years ago, so doesn't have proper structural integrity. You can see at the far end of the bad section a recent repair and even the line showing what someone regarded as the only bit needing repair! This is unacceptable as an A road. I would suggest there has yet to develop the concept of "Think pedal bike - thing about the 1-metre wide edge strip." There can be no other explanation. The danger at this spot was mentioned by a lady who lives nearby at the September meeting of Harwell Parish Council; she said she had given up cycling along this part of the A417.

The Major pot holes were repaired a good few months ago. But the condition of the road surface has got worse since then. The area is from the edge of the Harwell village to just after the 50mph speed limit sign. Its starting to get a bit unsafe for cyclists.
