Cars blocking footpath

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category anonymously at 10:35, Friday 24 September 2021

Sent to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council less than a minute later

Cars and vans are parking across the dropped kerb which is blocking the safe walking route/ mobility scooter route to get to the other footpath. Just today I had to walk around a van and poke my head out to see if it’s clear of traffic. As a child you where told not to cross between parked cars as it’s dangerous well here you have no choice as. The parking at the one stop shop as got out of control and some one is going to be injured and YOU the council need to take action immediately and not sit back ignoring the unsafe situation. There’s a grass verge which was once well kept but now it’s just mud because cars and vans are parking on it, so why don’t you make this into a car park. You the council are responsible for all this extra traffic when you allowed the three new housing estates to be built but you as usual never thought about the impact on the existing area like the car park. I look forward to hearing from you to see if you are going to take action.

Updates

  • Cars still keep half keeping and making it impassable for buggies and mobility scooters and sometimes pedestrians. Council need to step up and take action against these drivers who are causing this health and safety problem before some one is seriously injured.

  • Unable to use footpath again as car was blocking footpath. If I had been a parent with a pushchair or some one with a mobility scooter this would have put them in a extremely dangerous situation. Looks to me that the council are not bothered if some one is injured and don’t give a dam. I wonder what would happen if I parked in front of the council house steps ????
