Road Works Signs still present long after road works finished.
Reported via desktop in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 19:58, Thu 23 September 2021
Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3021440.
There are "Road Works" and "30" signs all through Ellingham from when there were road works done, with single file traffic. The works are long since finished, but all the signs are still there.

These road signs still exist. I believe that they are often left in place for financial reasons as they contractor leaves them there so that they don’t have to apply to have the enforcement reapplied as each application by the contractor to do so will cost. Thus, if further work is needed contractors just leave the enforcement in place until they can get around to come back and finish off the work.
Thus, this I believe, is a financial reason and not a ‘road safety’ decision.
To make matters worse the law can be upheld here should the authorities choose to do so.
You will also hear that because of the original work the surface left makes you he road unsafe and thus the limit has to be applied until the contractors come back to fix it.
Again, meanwhile, the everyday road user is left wondering for weeks and months what is going on??
