Signage not visible - DANGEROUS

Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 19:52, Wed 22 September 2021

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3018929.

Dear Hampshire County Council

I am writing to warn you of a hazardous risk on the A331 Southbound exit to Farnborough Park. A number of signs approaching this exit are barely visible not only because the vegetation is completely overgrown but also due to dirt and graffiti covering both key exits signs on the approach. These signs have been in a terrible state for months now and nothing has been done about it.

Given extortionate council tax increases in recent years we would expect that this very basic maintenance be completed to ensure the signs are visible and avoid an potential accident. It would be very easy for someone to miss the exit due to the bad visibility of signage or for them to make a late decision on turning off causing an accident. It also gives a very poor impression of the area to see signage in such a poor state.

I would be grateful if you can confirm when this will be dealt with and would stress the urgency of ensuring the signs are visible given the high risk of an accident.

Thank you

Oliver Trumble
