Speeding on Fowler Road/Cockington Green

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 5 minutes later
A small Minority of local residents and through traffic are using Fowler Road/Cockington Green as a racetrack because of how long and fairly straight it is, driving through on occasion, I have personally experienced vehicles flying around the 90 degree bend on the wrong side of the road because they have driven around Fowler Road too fast. Within the last year, there has been an incident where a vehicle has lost control, mounted the curb and ended up in the hedge on the corner. Recommend some sort of review to putting chicanes in place along this road. Have additionally witnessed vehicles doing handbrake turns in the road and layby area on the corner in the evenings. This is an ongoing issue, would rather complain now and prevent an accident rather than have a scheme put in place as a result of an injury/fatality. Thanks

Thank you for your report. Due to the nature of the road we believe that this is dangerous driving and recommend that it is reported to the police. However, if you believe that it is a continuing issue we recommend you raise it to the attention of the Town Council as they would be able to back any potential schemes that take place.
