Dead Muntjac deer on central traffic island

Reported via desktop in the Dead Animal category anonymously at 12:04, Wednesday 1 September 2021

Sent to Stevenage Borough Council less than a minute later

On the traffic island as Great Ashby way becomes 2 separate roads before the cartwright Road intersection, there is a dead muntjac deer. It's right at the place GAW splits into the 2 lanes. Whether this comes under Stevenage or NHDC, I don't know, but will someone please remove the animal asap

  • Dead animal still there

  • Someone has caused problems by moving the carcass from the original location. SBC are dealing with this and it has nothing to do with NHDC. The carcass, now rotting , is in an opening on the soft verge west-side of Great Ashby way, directly behind lamp post No.265. It was still there Saturday evening. Chances are, SBC did go to remove it but because someone interfered and moved it, it was hidden from view. I will check again Monday evening to see if it has been removed.

  • AS is always the case, this simple job was batted from pillar to post with Councils all passing the buck telling me it wasn't their problem. Anyway, the carcass was removed after a week or so, but I have no idea who did it and neither do the Councils involved. Might have been the Great Ashby faeries!!!

    State changed to: Fixed
