Potholes and disintegrated road surface
Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:29, Mon 9 August 2021
Sent to Kent County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2923430.
The potholes outside Nos7,8 and 9 have been there for several years and have become deeper and more dangerous. The whole of the road surface of Water Farm has disintegrated and is now a mass of loose gravel and holes. The road surface has had some previous patches several years ago but the remainder of the road is now in a condition which is dangerous to pedestrians and cyclists. An elderly neighbour recently had a serious fall. It really is time that some remedial work was put in place to improve this road.

Apparently someone from Highways called and looked at the road. Didn’t speak with me but promised that loose dangerous gravel would be swept.NOT DONE! Also gave an assurance that the road would be resurfaced in April or May next year! Heard that so many times before. Will wait and see!

Nothing has been done. The lorry which sweeps the roads passed the top of Water Farm but, despite the promise made by Highways (Keiran) did not come into Water Farm to attempt to clear some of the huge amount of loose gravel covering almost the entire lower area of the road. It is in a dangerous condition. There are cyclists and motorcyclists living in this road and the gravel is a potential disaster for any of them particularly after heavy rain when the potholes are full of water. When will this become a priority? What will it take for residents to get a solution? 🥺

Absolutely no change! In other words, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE! There has been no contact from Highways so none of the residents has any idea if/when remedial action, or even a sweep of the dangerous loose gravel, will happen. In the meantime the situation becomes more and more dangerous to the road users.

No action at all. Why am I not surprised? It’s been going on for years!!!! Despair at ever actually having a safe road surface here. 😩

The road is looking worse and worse! More holes than surface and so much loose gravel/stones where the surface is disintegrating! It is in a dangerous condition for anyone cycling , motorcycling or walking with a frame. It should be resurfaced as a matter of urgency or at least swept of loose material as we were promised last summer

I have reported it yet again as the whole surface has deteriorated to such an extent that it is dangerous for users. Piles of loose gravel litter almost the entire road area. NO ACTION AT ALL.

Today the road was swept of the huge amount of dangerous loose gravel by Gray Contractors . A very thorough job. The operative was very customer focussed and kept us informed. Now of course, many of the potholes are more exposed, deeper and more dangerous so resurfacing is essential.

Nothing more has been done since the road was swept so the potholes are deeper and there are more of them. In short, the road is now far more treacherous and in urgent need of resurfacing. Surely it cannot continue to be ignored by the Highways Authority.

No action to remedy the many potholes and heaps of loose chunks of road surface. However, someone has sprayed white paint and arrows around a couple of the holes! Cannot imagine how they selected which ones to mark as the whole road is a dangerous mass o f holes and loose chipping! The mind boggles! 😵💫

Two highways men here yesterday and put tarmac in 8 potholes. Not sure how they selected which ones to fill! Apparently the road is scheduled for resurfacing in this financial year. Residents not holding their breath!

No further action in spite of promises to resurface the whole dangerous road. WHEN we something be done? What will,it take?

This goes on and on and on. A few ineffectual patches placed next to deep potholes and piles of dangerous loose gravel. Still no sign of the promised (for too many years to remember) resurfacing needed to make this road safe.
