Unsafe for cyclists

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2912884.

There is a very bad patch of road near Rose Lane heading into Oxford. Cyclists often swerve out to avoid it.

  • There is still some of the iron cover not flush with the tarmac, it's still being avoided.

    Going over on a bike may damage a tyre.

  • I was bullied with a beeping horn and movement towards me by a car coming down Longwall street at 4 pm on Friday17 when I was correctly proceeding forward from the traffic light on the Longwall side of the High Street because the bicycle green light had come on. The driver clearly thought that I must be jumping the light because the double-decker bus hadn't moved. There is no way for the Longwall traffic to see a light change that signals they should not proceed.

    I alo agree about the unsafe area near Rose Lane.

  • I have decided to cycle in the middle of the road throughout this area because it’s so dangerous with all the potholes and manholes and poor road quality. So far nobody has deliberately tried to run me off the road. Clearly this is not how things should be. Please repair and upgrade this part of the street.

    This problem has been reported since August. Please advise when work will be done. Causing danger to hundreds of cyclists a day.

  • Agree this is still very dangerous for cyclists, who are forced to swerve around the potholes.
