Potholes and subsidence in road

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 11:20, Sat 10 November 2012

Sent to Birmingham City Council 4 minutes later

There are several potholes/depressions in the road near houses number 80 and 82 that seem to be located where the road has been dug up in the past.

One of the depressions next to the driveway of number 82 gets completely filled with water when it rains. When cars/busses pass by they spray a huge amount of water on pedestrians.

The depression towards the middle of the road jolts vehicles as they pass. When busses and lorries pass over this depression they shake all of the nearby houses.

  • Very soon after reporting the problem, someone (presumably from the council) marked out the problem areas on the road with spray-paint. These have not yet been fixed. However, out of the blue a few days later the tarmac on the lowered curb leading to our drive and our neighbours' drive was repaired/replaced. This was not part of the reported problem, but needed doing anyway.
