Elm Road, on the boundary of Reading and Wokingham, has been in a dreadful state and worsening over several years. Requires total resurfacing not temporary patching. From Shinfield Road the area in question is on Elm Road just before the turn off for Langdale gardens. From 5 am to midnight there is constant juddering and banging of passing cars and HGV's with noise and vibration affecting the household and the ability to sleep. Obviously the state of the road exacerbates the noise and vibration, the increased danger to drivers on a bend, damage to their vehicles and great potential dangers to cyclists; the area is in dire need of complete resurfacing. The road is a major thoroughfare between Shinfield Road and Wokingham Road and is busy with heavy traffic. This appears to be a "no man's area of road" between Reading and Wokingham with regard to maintenance.
