Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 13:56, Wed 14 July 2021

Sent to Cardiff Council less than a minute later

The tree outside 24 and 26 Ash Grove, Whitchurch, CF14 1BE

We have previously reported this tree to Cardiff Council via FixMyStreet

1. Tree growth outside 24 and 26 Ash Grove, Whitchurch, CF14 1BE obstructing natural light, overhanging the front of the property and interfering with telephone wires.

2. Growth at the bottom of two trees outside 28 and 30 Ash Grove, Whitchurch, CF14 1BE obstructing the view of oncoming traffic on A470 when pulling out of driveway, this is a health and safety issue. This has been an ongoing issue for many years.

3. In addition, this year, a much greater amount of sap has been dropped by the tree making everything it touches very sticky including my car which sits on the drive, but not directly underneath the tree canopy. This year has also seen a great increase in the leaves, blossom and seeded dropped from the tree. This not only drops into the gardens of 24 and 26 Ash Grove but onto the public footpath. I have included a photograph of the debris that has dropped in the last two days, I have to clear this away repeatedly, it’s a never-ending task.

4. Both my wife and I are pensioners and both have an adverse reaction to tree pollen, this is exacerbated by pollen from this tree.

This tree and all the others on Ash Grove are a maintenance issue for the Council, but nothing ever gets done.
