Parking in Main Street from Double Red Duke blocking vision

Reported via desktop in the Car parking category by Martyn Ronald Cox at 17:11, Monday 12 July 2021

Sent to West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

We live in Clanfield OX18 2QY. Since the refurbishment of the Double Red Duke Hotel and Restaurant the parking in Main Street has become dangerous and inconsiderate. The Double Red Duke applied for extra rooms to be built on part of their car park and tragically it was approved. They have 21 rooms and 10 usable parking spaces. Consequently visitors park everywhere else. Whilst I accept that drivers can park in unrestricted areas, the parking either side of our driveway is dangerous due to lack of vision. On one side, between our drive and Pound Lane, there are often three vehicles. You cannot see the cars coming from the Alverscot direction until the last minute. It is an accident waiting to happen. We need 24/7 restrictions urgently from the drive to the corner of Pound Lane and to the right the length of at least three vehicles. I hope this reaches the right person or department. The decision to allow them to build on the car park has proved to be a huge error of judgement. Thank you. Martyn Cox
