Dangerous junction

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 20:23, Thu 8 July 2021

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2851108.

This junction is a traffic light controlled roundabout, with a 40 MPH speed limit imposed on the approach to it. Sadly the speed limit is regularly ignored and vehicles frequently ignore the traffic lights when travelling in the direction of Coalville/Bardon along the A511. This is particularly dangerous for those vehicles joining from Staton Lane as that junction isn't strictly controlled by traffic lights, even though the other three entrances are. This often leads to slower vehicles ( HGV etc ) having to try to make a dash across, before traffic controlled by other lights also joins. This has caused many near misses and I'm sure that soon there will be a serious accident.
